I don't know how I missed this, that's such a great list!! I haven't read anything from Slovakia yet. Any books in particular that you would recommend? 🙌
Hi, thank you!! 🫶 It depends on what you are looking for :Dd I am just warning you, I haven’t read most of the translations 😆
Anyway, my favorites out of these would be: Fleeting Snow (Letmý Sneh) - it’s a classic heh Science of the Stars - a sci-fi written in the 19th century. I am probably going to read this translation soon because I found it on apple books :Dd Samko Tále’s cemetery book - that one is pretty humorous :D If you want to learn as much as possible, the Book of Bratislava could be of use, it’s a lot of stories and history crammed into one book 😪
Thanks for all the recs! Science of the Stars and the cemetery book sound so fun! Now the biggest challenge will be to find them somewhere available for me 😅
Yeah that might be a challenge 😬 I found them on ebay but the delivery might be too expensive. Maybe some library will have them? 🤔
I actually found that one of my libraries has a German translation of Samko Tále's cemetery book! So I think this is going on my plan for next year 😄
Yayy I hope you like it 🙂↕️😌
oh, wow. This is SUCH a genius idea for a list. i have a suggestion - older piece Hviezdoveda by Gustáv Reuss was translated into English => The Science of the Stars (link from Pagebound is included)
🫡🫡 added, thank you!! 🙏
