Nonfiction History (Recent World Events)
will mostly contain books about historical events and will span from the 20th to the 21st century. It will include many countries, not just the Western ones, so if possible, recommendations would be great!

great list! I recommend Ten Days that Shook the World, a first-hand account of the October Revolution by journalist John Reed
ooh i love this list! if youre looking for recs, i read Revolution and Its Past by keith schoppa which provided an informative (if sometimes dry) overview of China from 1850-ish to present! I also thought La Frontera: Forests and Ecological Conflict in Chile’s Frontier Territory by thomas klubock presented a really interesting look at the environmental history and economics of Chile in the 20th c, inclusive of effects that the pinochet regime had and i'm not sure if you want memoirs in this or not, but I read Red Scarf Girl by ji-li jiang some time ago and enjoyed it :D

memoirs are okay, I just haven’t read any, but I think they’re great for this list ^^
Oh, awesome! In that case, a few people I follow have been reading Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country by Patricia evangelista and it seems really good!
