This gave me a chuckle seeing Susan Sontag on this list who hated being called, and refused to be categorised as a post-modern writer. She will be rolling in her grave.đ
Haha my bad! Made this list in a rush oops. I'll take her off. I haven't read everything here, but tried to include major and diverse authors of fhe time. Thanks for letting me know!! Also will accept more suggestions đ
I think you should keep her on the list - for the very reason you said - diversity. I automatically think of Pynchon, Gass, Gaddis, Barth, Barthelme when I think post modern authors ( all male) - so itâs nice to be reminded of others
Sorry I probably should clarify - my initial comment was not meant for you to remove her from the list - she is very much a post modern author- she just didnât like the term and so didnât want to call herself one.

No worries hahah! But because of your comment I did a bit more research on her. I was reading an interview she did and she hated the term but people do seem to classify her work as postmodern in style and consider her ideas to contribute greatly to the movement - it actually got me thinking about how much power a writer has in classifying their own work đ€
