Small note: Bad Science by Ben Goldacre is kind of the best "in" into this genre of "pseudoscience-critical" books, however, it's not exactly immune to some bad science of its own, as most of the stuff on placebos in that book is based on some pretty shoddy science itself... If you know Dutch, I would strongly recommend reading Eigen Onderzoek Eerst instead.
