19/07/2026 DNF @ Chapter 2, 4% I so wish that books that brag about being funny were actually funny. Clearly I need to go back to the old faithful and just read another Discworld book. Also, I don't complain about audiobooks very often anymore since they're so well produced now, but the narrator was just not my cup of tea.

ActualTrashPanda commented on moss-mylk's review of All Woven With Ivy
4.25 stars for overall and enjoyment | I had so much fun with this book. I have so much love for it, the characters, the author.
It wasn’t a perfect book (around 60%ish percent I was feeling overwhelmed by all the plot points/threads; and some things were a little underwhelming). After reading, I found out that, while this can be read as a standalone, there is a sequel with another MC. Some of the threads to the plot didn’t get solved, but it’s clear they will be addressed in the sequel. So, knowing that, I hope that helps others.
And those flaws felt tiny in comparison to everything well done:
The writing was lovely and atmospheric.
The world was creative and interesting and like nothing I’d personally read before. The author puts so much love, care and detail into her world. She has several books set in it. She does all her own art, too (including maps! And her map to help with writing includes stuff like tram lines and food markets!).
The characters were loveable. Zanthi was assertive (but not rude or cold), and consistently stood up for herself. I liked seeing this in an FMC.
The plot unravelled deliciously. When I was reading All Woven with Ivy, this is the word that kept coming up for me, that fit this book perfectly.
And lastly, the wanting, gentleness and affection within the romance reminded me of my own relationship. I read some of this during a week I really missed my partner, and my wanting grew, surged, strengthened. I felt many waves of love. I felt seen. I highlighted so much. (When I say “wanting”, I mean like a desire that’s more than lust. You want and love the person so much. Almost akin to yearning.)
I’m so happy I found this book and this author.
