The humor in that one is pretty great. I loved the cast of characters; it was gripping from the start. I loved how relatable Jack Jr. is with his inner dialogue. I just thought this was a fun read even though there are some deeper themes within; it was always met with some levity.

Had fun with this one. Is it doing anything groundbreaking? Not really. Even for a reader like me who doesnāt read a whole lot of fantasy, I know that this story is pretty typical, but I did enjoy my time. It made me nostalgic for the Cruel Prince books; it had a similar atmosphere, not as good in my opinion, but thatās neither here nor there. I liked all the characters; I was genuinely invested in them. The plot was fast moving; the little trails we got with all the girls kept it interesting, and I actually loved the multiple POVs we got; it made the world feel more layered and immersed me. The romance was cute; at times it felt a little Insta love. I wish we got more yearning or just more moments to build them up; however, by the end I was fully convinced of the romance and am rooting hard for it lol. Can't wait to pick up book two; Iām already stressed.Ā

Uggggh, this was an amazing book. It was so heartfelt and lyrical. The number of beautiful life lessons woven in, the way Terah Shelton Harris writes grief and trauma it was truly one of the best portrayals. Iāve read about because the genuine understanding of trauma and healing makes for an even more hard hitting novel. I love the found family aspect; I just felt so deeply for our FMC that her joys genuinely made me tear up because I was just so happy for her, and this cast of characters just felt like a warm, safe hug. The romance aspect of this book was so beautiful, and the yearning it took to get there was the cherry on top of an already amazing novel. I will say the writing can feel a little wordy sometimes, but itās so worth it to stick it out. Definitely one of my favorite books of the year so far. I love how you can tell how much thought went into the progression of the story and the FMC journey , the seasons that intertwined with our characters' growth, and the atmosphere of the small town flower farm; it was just all done so well. This would be such a great movie adaptation. I canāt wait to pick up more from this author.

THIS MANNNNNNNN YESSSSSS! Oh my god, the yearning that is happening, the genuineness in which he cares for her is so beautiful. I love how this book is so much more than just the romantic aspect, but it also fills my heart with so much joy seeing her get to experience a human like him.š„¹š„¹ļæ¼

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. I love to center AAPI authors specifically in May (and yes, all year round too, lol). Iāve discovered some of my all-time favorites branching out into genres but also just reading diversely. Some Iām looking forward to reading this month are
Julie Chan Is Dead by Liann Zhang
Emperor of gladness by Ocean Vuong
I Did Something Bad by Pyae Moe Thet War Enemies to Lovers by Alisha Rai
Isha, Unscripted by Sajni Patel
What are some of your favorite AAPI authors or books, and are you looking forward to any on your TBR for May?
