Idk if I’m feeling this. Why do they have the banter of 12 year olds? It’s so odd, like they’re being snarky back and forth with each other, but it’s very juvenile. : /

I'm usually not one to do something like this but I feel like there should be a space where people can get out all their feelings if they didn't like a book (or of course if you absolutely HATED it) so tell me... What's the most recent book you disliked and why? Spill the tea my friends☕️ And if you feel like it, share a book you'd recommend over reading that one! Please be civil and friendly!!

Hello everyone,
I'm looking for recommendations of non-fiction books about transgenerational trauma.
My preference would lean towards psychologists/scientific based books, but I'll also take memoirs, testimonials, as long as transgenerational trauma as a subject is the main theme.
I want to read it with a friend who only reads in french, so bonus points if it's translated, but I'm still interested in English-only recs for my personal TBR.
We are both familiar with psychology so we're open to recs with that level of comprehension in mind.
So, if anything comes to mind, please share! Thank you ☺️

I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's okay to read at your own pace, whether you read 10 books a month or just 5 a year, that is okay💜 Lately, I've noticed on TikTok people hating on those who read 50 books a year and I'm like ¿? Because yes, I, personally, don't read 50 books a year, but one of my closest friends was able to read more than a 100 this year after years in a slump and I'm extremely happy for her. But I saw videos of people saying "But are you actually reading? Understanding? Underlining paragraphs? Making annotations? Analyzing what the author is trying to...?" NOT EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO THAT, YOU JUST NEED TO ENJOY YOUR BOOK AND LET OTHERS ENJOY THEIRS.
WARNING: This doesn't apply to people who asks AI for a summary of the book and then counts that as read, this is NOT a safe space for you and I don't like you, you're not the people I'm talking about in this post, shoo!

Didn’t love, didn’t hate. I think it’s gonna be forgettable. Unfortunately, I wish there was more of a fall feel to really drive that aspect home and have the characters have bigger personalities. Also, having them play up the whole FBI fake married couple being more comedic would have made it more fun.

Aaaa I just loved this book a whole lot. Everything worked for me. I love the experienced and inexperienced trope; it truly always hits for me. I loved our main characters, ughhh. 😩 Milo was the absolute best; his personality was so refreshing. Like, I truly love that man. I loved the banter, the tension, and the YEARNING. Omg, and the spice, of course, was a 10/10. It was just all done so well. It was so sad and deep at times and so real that it really balanced out the story and gave it more depth, which I appreciated. By the end of the book, it genuinely felt like they were so in love; ngl, I teared up in the end because I was so happy for them. Such a fun, great time. Definitely one of my top favorite romance books.

I’m having a hard time finding a few lists for this. I found one, but if you have any recommendations, pls I would appreciate so much for some lists recs on here or the book recs themselves. Anything is appreciated. ☺️🫶🏼
Some of my favorites have been : • No exit by Taylor Adams • The winter people by Jennifer McMahon (technically a horror but I liked very much bc not to spooky for me lol) • The overnight guest by Heather Gudenkauf • The family game by Catherine Steadman

GODDDDD I LOVE THIS MAN. 😩😩 I fear this is book is for me because I’m absolutely eating this shit up the banter, the chemistry, the TENSION. I’m giggling, kicking my feet, and blushing. Ugh, this is what I’ve been missing in romances this kind of banter.

I've been wanting to read more nonfiction for a while but I have no idea where to start because the genre feels so daunting to me. I mainly read alot of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror so I feel like it's time to branch out. I'm thinking of starting the audiobook for "how to say Babylon" because I've heard alot of good things about it. If anyone has any suggestions I'll gladly take any and all recommendations sent my way.
