hello all,
as the year ends I want to know what were some of your worst reads and why? we often discuss our best and next reads but I want to know how bad a book was that you dnfed it and/or skipped the whole author completely!
it’s so interesting to see how people rate/ comprehend books differently.

Alright trying to read this again. Got to chapter 8 last time but of course I don’t remember much so back at the beginning.

bro what is booktok on. like this was fun and all, very easy to read. but man if it weren’t for blake this book was kind of giving nothing. that may sound a bit harsh but i literally couldn’t look anywhere without seeing raving reviews so can’t help but feel disappointed

Sometimes I look at the high ratings of a book and genuinely wonder if I missed something. This book was so generic, slow, and repetitive. The only little bright spot was Blake, and the author almost messed up that character too (does he have to refer to her as little rabbit every single time 😩). The FMC was painfully naive and clueless while the MMC was so cookie cutter boring. There were so many characters that could’ve been explored with different POVs but no, just Aurora’s mindless narration. Strong first chapters, mediocre ending, everything in between dragged. Will not continue.

Great Value Rhysand and Dollar General Tamlin but make them werewolves and totally obsessed with cardboard cutout with "BRAT" as her only personality trait, Bargain Basement Feyre. No one had any actual personality or character, barring a hint in Great Value Rhysand, and Bargain Basement Feyre was one of the most infuriatingly insipid heroines I've had the displeasure to read about in years. I should've DNF'ed in the very beginning when I realized this book was just beat-for-beat copying the tropes that made ACOTAR successful, as if that were all that goes in to writing a book, and spelling out every plot point like the author thinks we're as stupid as the story she's telling. And the repetition!!!! I rebuke it in the name of Jesus. This shit is what's destroying the fantasy romance genre as a whole, and it's why the genre is being looked at as little more than corn. AND THE SPICE WASN'T EVEN GOOD.
