I loved the first book. I found that it's taken me longer to warm up to the second. I find Zelie's growth as a character is so slow. I actually prefer Amari in this book so far. I do find though that things are getting more interesting now that I've gotten a little farther into the book (p.150). I'm definitely going to keep reading to see.

I have nothing negative to say about this book (listened via audiobook)! I loved it. I fell in love with each character and their stories. But what I really appreciated was that I also felt transported back into my own childhood. It brought up so many emotions for me. Not many stories can/have done this for me in a long time.

I enjoyed the audiobook! It took my awhile to finish though. I wish the whole book was from Ganga's perspective!
