“After all, what is the point of a revolution if we don’t overthrow those who truly hold the most power over our world?”
This brings up a lot of questions for thought. There is no doubt that corrupt and illegitimate powers that harm the good of others are bad.
But where does it end? When the good for two people are radically opposed, the good of who wins? At what point is a leader overthrown when they aren’t each individual person in charge of everything in their own lives?
It seems to me that there does need to be some point at which a leader has to have some agency themselves. Even in this novel, Qin Zheng is not a leader without faults.
