This is my first Kristin Hannah book and I will definitely be binging her books after this one! I love when the author can bring the universe of the book to you; almost like you’re in a little bubble with the setting around you. The book is complex and thought provoking while still being easy to read and follow along. Following Frankie’s shift in mentality while she’s “in-country” was subtle but impactful on her character. I’m curious to see how it continues to change and evolve once she returns home.

The way that the characters are written about from the many different perspectives throughout the story adds such a rich depth to them. For a book that is so descriptive it isn’t overly wordy. Still every page has meaning and adds something more to the characters and their lives. I do fear though that this will have its consequences sooner rather than later… wish me luck
