Okay, I'm starting to really like the evil snark Kaden's got going on. I'm here for it.

I was debating on tracking my reading on here, but I love the forums and it feels like I have someone to talk to about what I'm reading. But I've seen how split reviews seem here for the book, which was mostly why I was debating on tracking it. But I started reading this in ebook format and was liking it enough to swap to a physical copy so I remembered to read it. I struggle to remember I have ebooks, so I like having physical copies. So far I'm enjoying the book. It does feel like I'm jumping into a story in the middle of a series even though it's book one, but other than that I like the characters so far and the story. It does feel like things are moving quickly already though.

While I did enjoy the book, it went back and forth from me loving it to feeling like I was pushing through it. I honestly prefer when Fisher and Saeris are apart in the story. When they're together it feels like the reading equivalent of being a third wheel with how often they pine for one another. At first it was cute and I did love it, but it got exhausting to read very quickly. I do kinda feel like we could've picked one plot and stuck with it instead of splitting it between the pair. I also mow wish we had a whole book of just Carrion and Fisher going on an adventure. Give me a whole misadventures of the two of them as a spinoff or something.
