While I did DNF it, it was pretty far in. It was one I was enjoying but kept going back and forth from feeling like I was pushing myself to keep reading to get to Reese's chapters. I honestly think Reese was more interesting to follow and felt more real. Courtney was hard to read through. Sometimes she felt like she was written with a thesaurus, but some small moments with the kids were sweet. I found myself skimming through a lot of the text. I did like the book, but I genuinely couldn't keep pushing myself to read it. I did spoil the ending for myself to see if my theories were right, and I'm pretty happy that I was right. I do enjoy trying to guess whodunnit before the characters, and I guessed it pretty early on. I'm still going to give some of her other books a shot. But this one was a little hard to get through, mostly Courtney's chapters.

Okay, I'm starting to really like the evil snark Kaden's got going on. I'm here for it.

I was debating on tracking my reading on here, but I love the forums and it feels like I have someone to talk to about what I'm reading. But I've seen how split reviews seem here for the book, which was mostly why I was debating on tracking it. But I started reading this in ebook format and was liking it enough to swap to a physical copy so I remembered to read it. I struggle to remember I have ebooks, so I like having physical copies. So far I'm enjoying the book. It does feel like I'm jumping into a story in the middle of a series even though it's book one, but other than that I like the characters so far and the story. It does feel like things are moving quickly already though.
