There are some parts of the plot that I feel were a tiny bit rushed or underdeveloped (especially towards the later chapters with the confrontation in the forest). However, it honestly didn’t bother me much. This book just had an incredible way of dragging me into the story. I absolutely adored the magic system, it was pretty unique from other fantasy books I’ve read and as a space lover I highly enjoyed the moon and stars taking center stage in it. I find a lot of fantasy books focus a lot on romance too, which is not my favourite genre, so I’m really happy with how packed full of family feels this was. The romance that was present felt natural where I was actually rooting for it.
Honestly, for a book that has multiple characters to develop due to the pov changes it was done pretty damn well. I feel like every character got at the very least decent personal and interpersonal development. I greatly enjoyed the italic chapters as well. I felt so accomplished when it all came together near the end of the book either through Xan or Ethyne since I got to go “I remember reading that!!!” lol.
