I don’t know if I never read a cottagecore fantasy book - perhaps no. I am so happy this was my first. I didn’t mind the love thing, I just was so happy and calm reading about all the other people and happiness and stuff that just happens, sorry I don’t want to have to much spoilers 😅 I loved it, if you think about reading it - read it, it’s nice!

I listened to it, but the German version. It grew on me, in the beginning I was a bit yeah, just men having bad times, but then it gets kinda funny listening to oltyx and the folk. I am no warhammer fan, it got recommended. If you wanna have a fun time, it’s nice to to listen to.

while the writing and philosophy of this book is undeniably beautiful, i struggled with the characters the whole time. there is just nothing HEALTHY about their relationship. they only argue, we never see what our narrator actually likes about her husband. frankly, it doesn’t seem like she likes ANYTHING, period. she’s always longing for something and, when she gets it, she no longer wants it and longs for something else, either what she has before or something new and abstract. i know it’s realistic. i know that i can relate, to an extent. but lord. what a frustrating read.

I loved and didn’t like it in the same time - because I could find myself in her POV - not on all, where I didn’t leave my hometown, but relationsships with men, and some other feelings. Thats was great, because I love reading thoughts where I can find similarities and also something new. Won’t say what’s bad, would be spoiler anf I also think others like that? And I NEEDED to know what will happen, and I don’t know if I am heartbroken in the end or happy - I am glad I read it, it was an easy- fast read and I couldn’t stop and finished it in one session - and loved it as something else to fantasy story’s.

I do like the book, but I’m finding it a bit dense and tiring, like, bfr, I’m only halfway through? Maybe it’s just been too long since I read a long book. I might need to take a break. It’s a bit dark too, which isn’t usually my cup of tea.
