This narration style takes some getting used to

It's odd how the author just randomly jumps heads sometimes. Like we're in Neema's POV and suddenly we get the thoughts of someone beside her. It's not impossible - but it's different

The thing that actually annoys me is that inner thoughts from random characters aren't in Italic. It makes me need to reread the sentence when italics would've easily clarified it.

  • What is writing style you don't like?

Hello guys! Since I have started a new book few days ago, and I've found out that is written in the style that I dislike the most .. I am curious. What is the writing style that doesn't match with you guys? For me is first person pov with present tense. I don't really like first person pov in general, I don't know why 😭 If the writing style does not match with my taste it's super difficult for me to enjoy 100% the book even if the story is top tier. Am I the only one? 😱 What are your opinion?

(Disclaimer: I am not attacking any author, nor anyone who enjoys 1st person pov, just simply sharing my humble opinion)

I got this novella for free, so my judgement is to be taken with a grain of salt. (Like i feel there were a lotttt of characters mentioned that fans would recognize but i didn't)

I thought it was very cliché, which might be unavoidable when you're writing a romance under a 100 pages. It was fine, very sweet, very sunny.

    But

I can't stand a plot revolving around people not properly communicating like adults. I can expect something like this from teenagers but from teachers??! No thank you

Lastly; it was extremely white, straight and traditional (like only the men were firefighters 💀) all of these things are not my normal book taste.

The fable was the idea that there could be happiness at the end of this road. And perhaps i am just like Inesa and Melinoë, holding out hope for a better ending to our story

I presume that's why the author decided to end the book where she did. So we could hope. It will never shatter us, because we will never truly know if our hope was useless.
