I am so happy that Roe has decided to dip his toe into writing paranormal romance because this venture into vampire lore is a hit! Russel and Eddie are just too hot and precious to handle. 🙂‍↕️ The lore that Horvat chose to use was really compelling; tweaked just slightly from what I think many of us are already familiar with. That made the world-building pretty clear, but put an interesting spin on it to make it unique. I am a Horvat-stan, but this might be my favorite of his that I have read to date!❤️‍🔥

I have been a fan of Nisha Tuli based on her adept romantic fantasies, so I went into this contemporary managing my expectations. I am happy to say that she knocked it out of the park! I enjoy workplace rivals that are forced into proximity with one another, and I thought Tuli's take on the story was refreshing. It was a slow burn, but when it ignited - whoooo. 🔥❤️‍🔥 I am looking forward to the next book she writes, because she can apparently do it all!🤗

I have several mutuals who swear by Rebecca Jenshak books, and I now understand the hype. I am a little hesitant to read sports books because I don't always get the references, but this was less about the sports and more about the family/found family of it all. And one of my favorite microtropes is when the MMC is particularly well-equipped but recognizes that fact and preps his partner appropriately. 🙌 I will definitely be reading more books from this author in the very near future. 💖

I'm so happy we finally got Will and Annelise's story!😍 I knew it was gonna be hard to read because there was no way there was a simple answer for what had happened. And I was right, but it was not a hard read. Andrews walks the reader through it in such an enjoyable way that the angst is bearable, making that HEA even sweeter. 💖

One thing about the first book in a romantic fantasy series is that it takes some time for the worldbuilding to make sense. I thought the author did a good job of mixing old and new to keep it relatable. I would have liked more answers before the end of book 1, but I don't mind waiting to find out what happens in book 2. 💖
