Rereading this after years - each book is worse than the previous one.
Characters and their relations are insufferable. Their decisions and reactions don’t make sense. The plot got very lost in this part. The scenes that should make the reader emotional etc are too flat and boring. The scenes are written poorly.
The ending is actually pretty ok. Surely it’s the most realistic part of the whole trilogy. I’m not happy about it, but I think it’s a good ending. (I knew the ending from reading the series years before)
Generally I wouldn’t recommend to anyone who’s over 16. Not that I would recommend to younger people, but until 16 maybe some can enjoy it, after there’s no way

Andy Weir. What the actual f*kc. The lack of sociological knowledge and sensitivity is utterly insane. And saying that ai was basically inevitable?? Wow.
For those that don’t know, Andy Weir said some utterly tone deaf and ridiculous things about his books not having political messages, and how ai was basically inevitable.
How bloody pathetic. And ironic.

Like the first part - underwhelming and very flat, shallow, while there was so much potential for a good book. However it is a book for younger audiences AND main character is 16, so I can’t rate it as if it was written for me.
Tris was insufferable in this part

ACTUALLY 🤓☝️
Tears DO have a scientific explanation Tris.
You’re talking about basal and reflex tears (triggered by smoke etc OR produced 24/7 to protect & moisture the eyeball)
The emotional tears contain stress chemicals, so you literally flush your “emotions” out of your body. Crying affects the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps the body calm down.
The amygdala (brain part) processes the emotion ➡️ Signals go to the hypothalamus, which controls the autonomic nervous system ➡️ Nerve signals activate the lacrimal glands above the eyes ➡️ You cry

THANKS FOR REMINDING ME
because I couldn’t stand your stupidity anymore 😫 Tris got so incredibly unlikeable in this part, I can barely read.
