I'll go first. They make me feel so guilty low-key. Like I feel like I always need to chug through it no matter what. Because I always have that "It might get good. You never know" feeling in the back of my mind so I'm so scared to DNF. I feel like I would rather chug through and hate it rather than DNF and be at peace. I just need to know fully. And eventually I get to like 50% and I feel like I put too much time into it to DNF. So I just keep going.

What I mean is that: 1. Once I was reading the ending of a book called "White Dolphin" in which the main character discovers an injured albino dolphin that she vows to protect because it reminds her of her mother who disappeared at sea. The book was assigned to us from school and I was studying it for my end of year exams. While studying, I had randomly put on the soundtrack from a movie I'd watched at the time called "Interstellar" in which a father leaves his daughter behind to venture into space and save humanity. So, when I was going through the book's ending, I forgot to turn off the music, and even though the ending wasn't overly emotional, I found myself tearing up; I think its because I was subconsciously affected by the music and mixing up the two similar storylines. 2. I watched a movie called "Warrior" which had a very bittersweet ending. The next day, I finished a book "Ink and Bone" which also had an emotional ending. I remained moody and upset for the whole of the coming week. My question is: has a book ever moved you greatly due to other events in your life, that if they hadn't happened, the book wouldn't have caused such a reaction from you as it did? And what I've written are superficial things that I remember. Talk about heavier events like somebody's loss, or moving to a new house or anything along those lines.

hi everyone! I just joined the community and first of all I am SO excited to be here!! š©· I'm not super in touch with bookstagram at the moment so I wanted to see what everyone is currently reading and obsessed with! (doesn't have to be a new release <3) tell me: ā¾ the book title ā¾ something you love about it ā¾ and something you don't like about it (if anything hehe). I just started The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst and am also finishing up Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft. I guess I'm in my cozy fantasy era right now š¤

Mine's Tatiana Maslany. I think my rating for the Hunger Games trilogy would have been slightly lower if she wasn't the one narrating tbh. HM: Luke Thompson. HIGHLY SUGGEST listening to audiobooks narrated by him.

I'm wondering if you read other books in between or if you finish a series without reading anything else (if all books or at least more than one book are available).
