    ====================================================

    Esse livro mexe com uma pergunta difícil: será que alguém consegue, de verdade, recomeçar depois de errar feio? A história acompanha Kena tentando reconstruir a vida enquanto carrega o peso do passado — e é aí que o livro acerta.

    Em vários momentos, você se pega torcendo por ela, querendo que as coisas deem certo… mas ao mesmo tempo bate aquela culpa, como se não fosse tão simples assim perdoar.

    Esse conflito é o que sustenta a leitura.

    Por outro lado, o romance é bem romantizado e acaba suavizando situações que, na vida real, seriam muito mais duras. Isso tira um pouco da força da história.

    No fim, não é um livro sobre realidade, e sim sobre empatia: até onde a gente consegue olhar pra alguém além do pior erro que ela já cometeu? E será que uma segunda chance é algo que se merece… ou algo que se constrói?

    ====================================================

    This book raises a difficult question: can someone truly start over after making a serious mistake?

    The story follows Kenna as she tries to rebuild her life while carrying the weight of her past — and this is where the book works best. Many times, you find yourself rooting for her, wanting things to go right… but at the same time, you feel a bit guilty, like forgiveness isn’t that simple.

    This inner conflict is what keeps the story engaging.

    On the other hand, the romance feels very idealized and ends up softening situations that would be much harsher in real life. That takes away some of the story’s impact.

    In the end, it’s not really about realism, but about empathy: how far can we go in seeing someone beyond the worst thing they’ve ever done? And is a second chance something you deserve… or something you build?
