That moment when a book hits you with a twist so wild, you just sit there in stunned silence, trying to process what just happened. What’s the biggest plot twist you’ve ever read?

Be honest: is it the cover, the title, the author, the blurb, the vibes, or the hype?

When do you read, like at what times? Do you read for a few minutes between things you have to do? Do you have free time in your day you mostly give to reading? I personally don't have long transport rides throughout the day I can use for reading which sometimes I wish I did haha but I usually read after work/college or read during the weekends. Today I actually had a task that wasn't very thought consuming during work and listened to a short audiobook while doing it, I don't usually listen to audiobooks as I find it hard to focus but it worked for me today.

What the Wife Knew

I decided to pick up 'What the Wife Knew' after seeing someone rave about it, and my curiosity led me to dive in. The book starts off strong, pulling me in with its intriguing premise, and gradually shifts into a darker tone as the story progresses. I have to give credit to Darby Kane for keeping me engaged throughout the book. The drama and tension were gripping, and I thoroughly enjoyed the way those elements were woven into the story. The deception and betrayal happening in this book were enthralling, adding layers of intrigue that kept me invested. That said, the characters were hit or miss for me. I wasn’t a fan of most of them, but the lawyer stood out as a solid presence. I also admired Addison’s quick wit, though her character often veered into cheesy territory, which made her harder to fully connect with. One of my biggest issues with the book was the lack of suspense. The plot twist was painfully obvious—I saw it coming from miles away, which took away any sense of surprise. The confrontation at the end felt unnecessarily long and drawn out, and in my opinion, the twist wasn’t impactful enough to warrant the buildup. By the halfway point, I had already pieced it together, so the ending didn’t leave much of an impression. Overall, What the Wife Knew wasn’t a bad read, but it wasn’t particularly compelling either. It’s a decent choice if you’re looking for a light thriller with good drama and tension, but don’t expect any shocking twists or deep suspense. While it kept me entertained, it didn’t leave a lasting impact.
