When I started this, I found it to be somewhat more blunt and a bit rougher compared to the only other Austen I’ve read, “Persuasion”. However, once the cast is established, and especially once the two relationships are called into question, it really picks up the pace, and by the last third I was glued to the pages. The cast is a great variety of assholes of various kinds, well-meaning but somewhat clueless characters, and the few just genuinely nice and good people playing off Elinor trying to keep it all together. When it finally all works out for her, you can’t help but feel glad for her (although the end result of the romances isn’t one hundred percent my favorite).

Amazing artwork. Sad that the movie seems to be quite bad according to most reviews.
