I have a major readerās dilemma: Do you mark a book as "read" if youāve totally forgotten the plot? šš¤
āTake Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, I know for a fact I read it. I still have my copy, I remember crying my eyes out, and I even took the book to the movie theater! But if you asked me for details now? Nothing.Nada. Zip. I only remember the movie! Does it still count as "read" if the memory has completely evaporated, or should it stay off the list until a reread?
āAlso... why did it take me this long to realize that mangas are books too?! Iām currently on Volume 12 of A Sign of Affection, which means I could have been marking all those previous volumes as "read" this whole time! š¤£šø My reading goal for the year is about to get a massive boost...
āHow do you guys handle this? Do you track books you've forgotten, and do you log every single manga volume? Letās discuss! š¤§

Hello everyone :) I just wanted to find other people reading new manga for January and what's their current reads?
Right now I'm going through Tamon's B-Side and Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan but I would love to see what everyone else is reading :)
Does anyone else feel like reading manga at the beginning of the month is a great way to get through reading slumps?

Anyone have any tips on how to write better reviews/forum posts/updates? I know I have thoughts somewhere in me but whenever I go to write something I have no idea what to say :/

This book promised a fresh twist on mafia romance and in some way it delivers, usually, these stories are about the lead-up to the wedding, but here the heroine is already married with a child and is actually fighting for a divorce.
While I didnāt deeply connect with the characters right away, I stayed totally invested just to see how it would all play out. The romance hit that classic "Iām cold but thereās something about you" trope that I always love, and the moment the heroine finally stood up for herself and demanded that divorce was such a satisfying highlight for me.
There were so many mob names, which is not really and issue for me, but this names where so complicated that I honestly ended up skimming the technical stuff just to get back to the relationship.
Between the confusing flashbacks and the massive cast of characters, it felt less like a first book in a series and more like I had accidentally jumped into a sequel. It definitely could have been a bit tighter structurally since some of the family members just felt like filler
The plot is basically: FL marries ML to unite families, heās emotionally cold ( a sociopath with no feelings), she falls for him, his ex appears, jealousy ensues, she gets fed up, asks for a divorce, he ākidnapsā her, opens up, and they realize they love each other. End of story. Itās a solid romance arc, though predictable
Overall, the romance eventually paid off, but the middle of the book definitely dragged with unnecessary detail. It felt quite a bit longer than it needed to be, and I kept getting lost in all the different family relationships. If youāre in the mood for a mafia story with a strong heroine and plenty of tension, this is a solid pick, but just be prepared for it to be a little bit of a headache to follow.
Itās a decent read as long as you don't mind a little messiness in your world-building

I don't know if this is a "me problem," but are we supposed to know everyone in the story? I feel like every time a character is mentioned or introduced, we're supposed to know them already....
