I loved this cute graphic novel! The art was so gorgeous, but there was also such a good story about feeling your emotions and navigating complex relationships.

This book was not easy to get through. I can’t comment on how one might feel if they don’t have religious trauma relating to homophobia, but this book really hit home for me and I almost had to put it down. There’s a specific chapter that is heavy on the reasons why a Christian might think the way they do, which, I believe, was to let the reader in on why the dad was the way he was, but it was very hard to get through as someone who has had similar things said to them as a kid. If you have triggers relating to religious intolerance, this is not the book for you. I did not personally gain anything from this book that I needed from it, but that’s not to say another person couldn’t. I think I was just relating a little too much to the main character to be able to see the big picture here. With that said, this was a great book, well written, and very emotionally engaging. If you feel secure enough to read it, you should.

This was definitely an interesting take on alternate dimensions and fairytales alike. I did find it a little odd how it ended, but you know what hell yeah.

First of all, Vico Ortiz killed it in the audiobook! Captain was giving hot country girl who knows too much if that makes sense. And there was so many characters to voice, I’m surprised she made a distinguishable voice for so many! This book is so clever, it made the impossible seem plausible. Aliens, superheroes, space odyssey, Emily Hamilton did it all, and made me believe it could happen too. Every character felt important, even the ones who aren’t there. Hamilton gave each of them a unique personality and something to hinge on without actually saying it. I don’t know how she did it with so many characters too, and I never felt bombarded with information. Girl knows how to do sci-fi and character building if nothing else. My god this one was good. You’ll never see me disregarding a soulmate romance, but jeez, this one pulled my heartstrings. I’m so glad I read it!

The story was good, but the epilogue made me cry. I don’t care, I love girls in love. Deanna Grey knew she was cooking with this one too, I just know it. I love a good story about an overachiever, but when both main characters are overachievers giiiiiirl I cannot. It’s so good, delicious, give me twenty! It was an enemies to lovers trope, but it never had that whole frustrating ‘she’s in love but won’t admit it to herself’ thing going on. They knew it, and they owned it. Gotta love a good stereotype breaker.

First of all, I love every Lucy Bexley book I’ve read so far. I was thinking about the book she wrote with Bryce Oakley, “Just My Type” and that’s actually how I ended up with this one. I’ll say it’s definitely a different vibe, as to be expected, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was giving more rom than com in this one, which is definitely appreciated in its own regard. This book was great, but I think the ending might have been a bit too rushed for me. I wanted to ruminate in the whole happily ever after and getting through things together inside the story, but I felt like I had to do it in the epilogue, and it was lackluster even then. That is quite literally the only complaint I had though, and the only reason this isn’t a five star review. Definitely still worth a read!

If you know me please stop reading now, thank you. This was the single hottest book I’ve read this whole year. There were scenes in this book that had me gasping for air, oh my gosh. The texts that I sent to my girl about it were something along the lines of: “holy FUCK” and “the spicy scenes are SPICY” if that gives you any indication of how it went. That wasn’t even the point of the book, it had such a good plot line I’d read it again just for that. I loved getting to see the point of view of an avoidant personality type trying to reconcile and belong in a relationship. It was just good. Delicious even. But by god they had chemistry. Unreal chemistry. Read it!

I knew it was going to be cute when I picked it up, but I’m a sucker for grumpy x sunshine! Blake is such an unassuming grump, it’s amazing. I liked Jenny as well as the sunshine, and she fit the role well, but I think she just didn’t stand out much to me. Overall, a sweet and short read, worth the time if you want to read something nice.

Oh my gosh this book was so different from what I’m used to! It was unrealistic, most of the major plot points would never happen, but what the heck is a book for if not to push the boundaries like that? I loved the dynamic. It didn’t push for nerdy x street smart, but it definitely was. Their dynamic is unlike anything I’ve ever read, but that was part of the fun. Great read overall, I would read again.

Where this book shines is the characters! The two main, Michelle and Eden, are the most ice queen and sunshine respectively that I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. Their love and the depth of emotion while both go through their own self discoveries is palpable, and believable as well. The side characters aren’t to be dismissed either! I found that every character that was mentioned often had such depth and feeling, it was hard not to feel a type of way towards them. And they are all so unique and so so human! Chef’s kiss and hats off to Lee Winter, I definitely want to pick up the next in the series asap!
