For a book that I keep accidentally calling Boxcar Lesbian, this book is only technically sapphic. If you’re not necessarily looking for a sapphic read but like the idea of the main characters being technically sapphic without it being a part of the plot, then this book is fabulous! It was such a great read, and it gave me the same feelings that Inkheart did for me when I was a kid.

I’m not going to lie, this book is beautifully made. Read your trigger warnings and check out reviews before you go into it.

This book was hilarious! I was cracking up just about every other sentence. I would love to find more books like this one, comedic sapphic books seem to be rare! Anyway, going into this not knowing Tennessee lingo makes it way funnier. I still don’t know what a can is.

Imagine my surprise when I found a book by my two most read authors this year! I’d say these two make quite a good team, and it was interesting to see the patterns I’m so used to from each author gel in one book. If you like either Bliss or Lydon, I absolutely recommend this book.

Out of the 12 Harper Bliss books I’ve read, this one is by far my favorite. I’m so glad I finally picked it up, because I very much needed a good lighthearted story like this. As always, Bliss excels in creating tension without using miscommunication or devaluing her main characters. The love felt real, and their problems felt realer.

The cool thing about Emily Banting books is you kind of already know what you’re going to get, and this one was no different. HEA, pretty well established main characters, and a nice plot with a third act breakup. It was good! Banting always makes me smile while reading her books.

Wow, this book is absolutely phenomenal. I love when an author uses figurative and symbolic language to tell you about the world around them and the characters within it. The book was hauntingly beautiful, ultimately a book about love and acceptance wrapped up in the horrors of corporate greed and literal monsters. Every time I thought I knew where this story was going, I was wrong. I had goosebumps by the ending. This story will make you feel the entire spectrum of emotions. I feel bad giving this book a five star compared to other five stars I’ve rated, I think it needs an extra half star.

I love Lex Croucher books!! If you haven’t read one, consider picking one up, they are always so clever and engaging. I truly didn’t want to put this book down. I think after this one, Lex Croucher is going to be on my insta buy list!
