I cannot emphasize enough how impactful this book has been to rediscovering my artist’s voice. It also took me way more than 12 weeks to get through it (Feb-Aug) but holy shit. Since picking up this book I have: reorganized my home to better suit my artistic needs, become a morning person, picked up a fitness practice, signed up for classes locally I always wanted to take, written hundreds of pages of morning journaling, discovered new skills, traveled more, found time for my craft, and more. I’m not religious at all, it didn’t matter because the lessons in the book took this burned out person who thought their art would always need to be pushed aside for life and made them an artist again. I am changed because of the lessons in this book, so much so I want to get my hands on the sequel! Thank you Cameron for digging me out of despair. It’s so healing to be an artist again, to draw again, to sew again, to do it all again. Now I am consistently and with immense gratitude. For artists hitting a wall because life is in the way this book is a major game changer. I highly recommend giving it a try!!

Okay I really enjoyed this book. A small town slice of life romp about sisterhood, finding love, and reclaiming yourself. I don’t think it was particularly deep with any of its themes or conversations, but I loved the world the author built and the antics of the magic within. If you’re looking for something light and fun to lift your spirits this book is definitely it. I will say it very suddenly out of nowhere goes into some very dark themes! But I like how the characters were able to conquer those horrors from their past with communication and coming into themselves. Super fun! Might revisit again.

God I just loved this book. So delightful. Kinda wish I could give it 4.75 stars. Lady Trent is an icon and the concept of studying dragons amused me so much. Her relationship with her husband is also really delightful and all in all I was captivated by her voice and the narrative.
