since pb is anti-ai, i wanted to highlight this. i found out about it today from a bookseller friend.
in a recent interview, tokarczuk (drive your plow over the bones of the dead, the empusium, etc) stated that she used AI to help write her most recent novel. here is an article about it on lithub.
it seems to be a recent interview and therefore new information, so there isn’t too much on it yet besides some horrified reactions on insta/threads. i’m planning to look into it more when i’m home from work and update with more links as necessary!

Now, sum yourself up in three emojis! (And feel free to explain your choices if you want, this doubles as a great “get to know you” method too!)

Reality is overrated! These surreal and absurd fiction books remove logic to reveal their truths. Here the impossible is inevitable, the strange is necessary, and Kafkaesque is only the beginning.

FeralYoinker commented on clackamaslee's review of A Christian Response to Dungeons and Dragons: The Catechism of the New Age
Just came across this little book my foster mother gave me back in the 90's and decided to give it a quick read-through.
It's pretty ridiculous. If you are a Christian thinking about getting a book like this to talk your kids out of playing Dungeons and Dragons, it won't work. If anything, trash like this will make them more eager to try to see what all of the fuss is about. Instead, I suggest playing through the little adventure that comes in the starter box with them, then collaborating on some ground rules from there. Also, know the kids in their gaming group.
I have to respect that my foster mom felt this strongly that D&D was bad for me, but still didn't come right out and forbid it.
