Hi, I'm in a bit of a decision slump so I was hoping for some recs.
Ideally, I'd like interconnected standalones purely cause I find my inability to decide isn't bothered by them as I don't technically have to commit.
Open to all genres and themes
Thank you <3

I've tried several times now to eat while reading and the only time I've managed to do this successfully is when the book in question was in an audio format. If I'm reading a physical book, I'm always at a loss at how I should flip the pages without having to do a whole lot of shuffling so that I don't rip the page or get food on it by accident. And then I'm supposed to... use one arm to just... hold it up the entire time I'm reading?? 🤔 That gets so exhausting so quickly! And this issue isn't really made any better with ereaders either. Sure, they're a lot better because you don't have to try to hold a heavy book open, but you still have to touch it in some capacity, and trying to prop it up with something else doesn't really work, and my kindle's slammed down on the table more than once from me accidentally knocking it over. Maybe this is just more of a 'me' thing since I have a tendency towards finger food (been getting really into sandwiches lately in particular!) but reading while eating continues to baffle me. Props to people who manage to do it without much issue, and what is your secret... And to the people who have tried but failed... be honest, how much food did you get on your book 🫣

Hey y’all!! Does anyone have any ideas for books in Spanish for someone who hasn’t practiced in a couple years??
I don’t want to use Duolingo (booooo AI) and I don’t want to pay for a language app that I’ll probably never use, I’d rather check out books from the library and try to learn that way.
For reference, the highest level Spanish I was at was learning future tense and (poorly attempting) a readalong of Don Quixote (it was for a class, we didn’t get very far lol)

hi ! can anyone recommend fantasy books that have a "golden retriever" type of mmc :3
most of the fantasy books i've read always have a mmc that is grumpy, have dark aura, with dark brooding eyes— basically a shadow daddy lmfao i just want something different and fresh. i'd love anything as long as it doesn't involve love triangles <3

Ok so I know in multiple quests and lists only the first book of a series is added and I do this personally in my shelves for declutterring purposes, however I was wondering if in a list specifically, if multiple or all the books in a series fit into whatever the list is about, would you add all of them or just the first one? I want to hear people’s opinions from both making and viewing lists, if there is a general preferred or accepted way to do it or if it just depends?

I hope this wasn't asked before. I tried searching Hope and I didn't see anything related to what I want to ask.
Initially I wanted to ask if there are books you'd recommend with the vibe of the Good Place (I just finished a rewatch), but as I realise this might be too specific, I wonder if you have hopecore books recommendations. (Or hopepunk) Basically what it sounds like, books that give you hope. If the prompt with the Good Place helps in any way, I welcome those recommendations as well. Basically I want books that I can read when I feel down or hopeless and to remember that as long as we live we can try again and again and again and do better. I hope this makes sense. Looking forward to any recommendations!
PS: my first thought about this category would be Lord of the Rings but I've yet to read the books, sadly.

As part of broadening my literary palette this year, I want to start reading some poetry. The problem is, I have had little/no exposure to poetry in academia and I don't know where to start. I read almost every genre and would love some recommendations on classic and contemporary poetry that are "must reads" in your opinions!

Hello guys! I have just finished reading another book from Claire Kent and her post apocalyptic world (shoutout to the Kindled series that I have reread so many times). And as always I get this void and neeeeeed to read something similar - and this is my cry for help.
So please if you have any recommendations for romances in a post apocalyptic world tell me, I’m not picky 😅 I just ask:
Thank you!!!
