I felt like this time around, I had a hard time sticking with the book I would only read a chapter a day or a couple pages. As this is the ninth book in the series I am invested in the overarching plot and I'm looking forward to see what Jules will choose in regards to Carlos in the later books. The murder that took place had an initial gut feeling that was ignored, and Jules had moved in a very different direction with her theory. The author definitely likes to string the reader along to throw us off the scent. I like the new staff that have joined torte in this book I think they round out the dynamic and add some more character depth. I am glad with how Jules and Detective Kerry's relationship is evolving, and I am looking forward to see how these new relationships develop.
