I don’t think I would have liked this as much if I hadn’t watched the movie.
The pace was a bit rushed, everything that happened went by really fast, which probably makes sense in theory but not that enjoyable
I also think the whole Aunt Helen thing came out of nowhere kinda, I picked up on hints but within the last 10 pages it just all spilled out. Again, makes sense for his character but not all that interesting to read.

I will say, one thing this book does well is capturing the essence of a 14-15 year old’s diary. Bar for bar probably the type of stuff I would write at that age
