    Had to DNF

Despite my best efforts to slog through the audio book, it just really couldn’t keep my attention like the other books in this universe. 60% through and I called it quits despite originally being willing to try to tough it out.

Dont judge a book by its cover... but...

The cover image here is diabolical and so much more sinister than the version on the audiobook 😭😭 in general i am anti-sanitization of smutty book covers via cartoony/cutesy character art but in this case.... maybe preferable

    Thoughts from 18% — Chapter 19

At first, I thought this would be like a longform Miss Marple case. Cozy, hilarious, slowburn, one clever old lady (or in this case, a group of old folks) solving crimes. But then Elizabeth and Ron showed up with their crazy ideas, and I quickly realized this is more like Miss Marple on steroids. šŸ˜‚

I love the pace of the book. It just feels like a narrator rambling to me about stuff. i find it so endearing. it’s perfect for an audiobook version. like a friend giving me the šŸµ. do i remember all the names? of course not, lmao, but what’s important is the gossip of what’s going on in Cooper's Chase retirement village.

  • READING FAST

Tell me what helps you read faster - and tell me actual tips that have helped you, because I want to read so much moreeeeee For me what helps is listening to audio books while I draw, i get through large chunks of the book, but that's not always possible...

  • how long into books do you dnf?

hello!! how long into the book do you usually dnf? cause i’m reading a book idk if i like. the concept is really cool but im like 10% in and i hate every character and the writing style is meh… and idk what to do! it’s draining my excitement to literally see it… and another one of my reads is the second book in a duo but i’m looking hating it compared to the first one? like the characters haven’t grown at all… idk if they’re a dnf or if i should just pause them since im a big mood reader. need advice pleaseee tell me what you would do
