While I completely understand the criticisms of this novel, I had such a good time I glossed over all the plot holes.
The characters are utterly charming, the story had a whimsical fairytale storytelling format that I personally really enjoyed and visuals reminiscent of an 80s movie (Labyrinth, The Princess Bride).
The romance got me ! The tension had be giggling n kicking my feet but I beg Rachel to stop writing sex scenes, they aren’t good and while I love a good smutty scene, these always feel disjointed and abstract from the storytelling.

ok, there is NO way that this girl can see through a knight's helmet PLUS her shroud. what????!
anyway I've been having the hardest time trying to picture what's going on in this book, simply because the description is either hard to understand or just really vague 😭
oh and this is the second time that sybil has mentioned benji sounding like he "practiced his lines" like damn is he really that obvious or what
