Not sure how im going to feel about this one.. Im intrigued by the concept and plot but it is not engaging as I hoped thus far, and I find that the characters are reading much younger than they are supposed to be

This manifesto was a new venture into what nonfiction can offer for sure. Deloria presents such a complex display of the various issues present in present-day America for Native Americans (present-day being 1969) as of the books publication. The book is filled with brilliant research and first-hand experience, sharp humor (The chapter titled "Indian Humor" made me laugh the entire time), and a sentiment on the Black Power Movement that I didnt necessarily agree with. . . nevertheless, a unique and worthwhile read.

I’m having a VERY hard time getting into this book. Is it too early to think about giving up?
