I would not have liked this half as much if I hadnt had the audiobook. This definitely benefited from being narrated. I personally enjoyed the crude humour, but can see why it's not to everyone's taste. I did feel like basically nothing happened, but I was still down for the ride. Audiobooks normally take me an eternity to get through and I whizzed through this, even though I didn't feel much happened it didn't stagnate or bore me at any point.

I will admit I did not read the synopsis of this book before diving into it (the only thing I vaguely knew before starting was that the setting is academia) so if this turns out to be another fake-lovers-turn-real-lovers situation I don’t know if I’m gonna like it because it seems a bit… cliched. But we’ll see.

The way I ran to Ali's website to read the 2 chapters of Adam's POV the moment I finished the epilogue!

Absolutely loved this, I can sometimes struggle to like FMCs in books but I so enjoyed reading from Olive's POV. This was such a fun read, my only wish was that we found out more about the characters back stories. Given this was originally fanfiction there tends to be less need to build this out, but as someone not in the fandom I felt this was a little surface level. I almost didn't pick this up after hating Love on the brain, but I'm so glad I gave Ali a second chance! Looking forward to my next read from her

After suffering through Love on the brain, I was sceptical picking this up. 50 pages in and this is miles better! I'm loving Olive's spiraling. Kind of wish I hadn't read peoples comments about the over describing of how big/tall Adam is, as now it's all I can see!

5* read up until the 75% mark, but still a super enjoyable 4* read. Was a quick and easy, with lots of funny dialogue mainly delivered by Riley. Would definitely recommend for someone who likes m/m, looking for something short and fun or to get you out of a slump. Some areas of the plot felt a little underdeveloped, but that's what you get when a book is less than 300 pages so can't fault it on that too much

This was going to be a 5 star read (the 5th star coming from vibes alone), up until the 75% mark 🥲 Riley is so much fun and is really carrying this for me, I imagine this would be a great audiobook
