An insane book with surprisingly sweet and deep moments considering it's Veggie Tale smut LMAO I devoured this in a single sitting and it was a perfectly easy why choose read. Had me laughing a bit with the references and absurdity of it all. Obviously not perfectly written, but I never really expect that going into these books so it doesn't matter much to me. Also a great start to pride month 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ Computah did its job

I'm so nervous and excited to start this series. I'm just really hoping it lives up at least a little to the hype 😵‍💫

"I was benevolent and good: misery made me a fiend."

This book was just outstanding. There's so many incredible quotes, I had trouble choosing one.

I'm always cautious going into classics since I tend to not enjoy them as much, but oh my was this an exception. The constant symbolism (whether intentional or not) can be applied to numerous subjects in today's world: racism, gender expression, homosexuality, etc etc. The idea that love and acceptance is often all one needs to sustain hope and benevolence. The concept that others assumptions and opinions can leave one with no choice but to live up to said narrative. I just loved this.

I have a soft spot in my heart for The Creature and wish I could read a narrative where he's loved and cherished. I would 100% recommend this read if you've been considering it!

"Just because something has always been done does not mean it ought to be done."

This book was just absolutely gorgeous. Samantha Shannon balances fantasy elements with romantic yearning and relationships so incredibly well. Bonus points for it being wlw and queer. The romantic elements don't take over the plot in the slightest which can be the biggest issue in some fantasy books. The characters actions are properly motivated which makes them all the more immersive. They're multifaceted too. Even the worst characters have moments where you're sympathizing because they have a proper motive. It's not an antagonist doing things just because they can. Another thing to note is this author does NOT hold back. She's not out here sacrificing people for the sake of it, but she also isn't giving everyone plot armor either. I found myself tearing up multiple times. I'm usually not a fan of a multi-pov category of writing, but it didn't bother me at all in this book. The author consistently uses 3rd person; thus allowing her to smoothly transition between them all - especially when they start crossing over and meeting. The final climax didn't quite go the way I expected, but i'm not mad at it either. It felt balanced and satisfying all the same!

Overall, I adored this book, its characters, and the journey they go on both individually and together. I would absolutely recommend this read if you've been contemplating it!
