Do yall have a favourite word and get really excited when you see it written in a book because most of my kindle highlights are either the word petrichor or iridescent? Petrichor is also my favourite smell in the world 🌧️☀️and iridescent is just a fabulous word 💜💙🩷
What are everyone’s favourite words (in any language) and do feel free to leave the definitions too because we can all learn some new words today ✨
Have a lovely Sunday whatever you’re doing ✨

does anybody else have any specific reading or book related goals for themselves for the rest of the year, beyond reading x number of books?
for me, i’ve been focusing a lot on certain special events / readalongs and picking up some random library books that have caught my eye since recently getting a library card. after i finish my current sakura reads, i really want to (finally 🥴) focus on my physical TBR and tackling some of the quests i’ve joined! i love joining quests but i feel like i’ve yet to seriously try to complete them🏃🏻♀️
what about y’all?

Every so often, there’s a book that breaks through barriers and smashes glass ceilings in terms of representation. This has got me thinking about what I personally wish to see representing or mirrored in books in particular. I love C.G. Drews and Don’t Let the Forest In was the first book I read and really felt as though asexuality was something other than a joke or a character flaw and it meant the world to me knowing that I could read a book about a character like me on a level that so deeply resonated with me.
What do you all wish to see more in books? Character types? Plots? Situations? Or even if you think there’s been a book that failed in trying to deliver the representation it promised to show?

Hello! This question popped into my head today in part because I would love to see more people pick up a book, and also because one of my friends has really gotten back into reading this year (I am very proud 😊). So yes, everyone you've ever met has to read exactly one book of your choosing. It can be anything you want, whether you think it's a great book to get back into reading OR a great book for them to understand you/the world better. Which one would you pick and why?
