This is a pretty monumental moment, Yeva removing the helmet- it happened sooner than I expected but I’m glad for it

Is the framing sequence of the storyteller really necessary? This book could have benefited from first person or a tighter, tenser narration.

A wonderful book that offers a different perspective on writing outside of the white, het, cisnormative perspective. Incredibly enlightening.

A wonderful premise that fell flat a little with its execution. The worldbuilding was solid (I didn't know why people say the worldbuilding was bad) But the pacing was not that great. The insta-love turned me off, even though the characters were pretty vibrant. The twists were exciting though and it was a fair read over all.
I hope the next one is better, ngl.
Perfect for: Twist lovers, people who love exciting thrills, people searching for a fresh take on fae.
Not-so-good for: People who want a reason for romance, people who don't like insta-love

God, what a delightful little fairytale. The writing in this is so poetic and it draws you in so quick. the sisters' bond was beautiful as well. Though there is a lack of backstory and solid worldbuilding, and the plot is quite simple and unrealistic, but it wasn't an issue for me, personally.
Perfect for: People who enjoy fairytales, lyrical writing, and a sense of wonder
Not so good for: In depth worldbuilding enjoyers, people who like complex epic plots, and people who like deep character exploration

A fun craft book that sadly was not what I expected.
When I went into this book, I expected to read about how to make a difference by writing, but this was a writing technique book first and foremost, instead of being a book on how to change the world with your writing. Most of the advice, while valuable and amazing, doesn't really do anything to change the state of the world we are in. It felt merely symbolic. Still pretty enjoyable.
Perfect for: People seeking general craft advice, people who want to change the world using storytelling, people not confident in their writing
Not-so-good for: People who don't like being told how to write, people who want to practically change the world,

Utterly enchanting and magical. This book drew me in instantly with its aesthetic settings and colourful characters and made me stay with what it has to say about trauma and perfectionism and not being enough. It’s nothing new under the sun, of course, but the narrative is beautiful nevertheless.
Perfect for: people who like soft worldbuilding, people who enjoy low, personal stakes, and people who enjoy happy endings.
Not-so-good for: people who enjoy higher stakes, people who don’t like vibes based storytelling, and people who prefer grander scale conflicts
