I like my castles cold, my moors windswept, and my heroines swooning.

Read this back in high school. It really made me a fan of Diana Wynne Jones and spurred my love of cats.
Also, the story Little Dot convinced me that the Egyptian goddess Bast is the true cat distribution system. I will not be taking questions at this time.

so, I’m finally reading this, and it’s my first book in years (2022) because I was just out of it in the reading department (being antsy makes for lack of focus, and that lack of focus compounds the antsy)…
I’m loving it! The simple/not-too-flowery prose and balance of not-too-much/not-too-little info, the pacing, the story, the characters…
😩 me from 2015–2020 would’ve loved Howl’s Moving Castle, let alone 2008-me when I was a child. (I wasn’t encouraged to read anything as a child, besides religious [Watchtower] publications – I was raised in the JW religion … I’m not one anymore, though).
