âYou did not rescue me,â Casiopea replied. âI opened that chest. Besides, I wasnât a princess in a tower. I knew Iâd get away one way or another, and I was not waiting for a god to liberate me. That would have been both silly and unlikely.â

My rating system goes as follows: If it makes me cry, it gets 5âïž. Itâs pretty straightforward, really.
I loved everything about this book and I cannot wait for historical fantasy to become a more established genre because the possibilities for stories and enjoyment are immense.

Two witches walk into Winston Churchill's office. What could possibly go wrong? Or right? Absolutely loving this beginning. I think I'm in for a treat!

This was my comfort read after quite a few thought-provoking novellas that left my brain in shambles.
I needed an escape, and what a pleasant surprise to discover this author - the banter, the spice, the way of the phrases was just right! I'll definitely read more from this Caribbean author.

'Is this what it's like to be a man? Constantly out of breath from being allowed to speak your mind without being interrupted?'
The sass... and tragedy that in 200 years things haven't changed. đ

I had a hard time reading this and, at the same time, I could not put it down. I am thankful for the experience and humbled because I cannot fathom the fact that we as a society shun away from disability of any kind. I need more reads like this one. It was visceral and incredible, a very brave idea from the author!

Very compelling. I understand everything, having gone through it myself. The wilderness is the fresh experience of having a new baby, becoming a mother.

Hi everyone! I'm new to Pagebound and I love it here (the community & the app itself). I run a book club in my hometown and I was thinking it was a great idea to share the books we discuss on each theme of our book club meeting into a crafted list. (side note: my book club is special, we only discuss the same book once a year, for the rest of the months we choose more general themes and people read diverse stuff in that theme) However, I created three lists for our most recent meetings and I'm getting downvotes. This makes me a bit sad and maybe I'm not getting the feature? My initial thought was: what a great way to curate the books we discuss in our monthly get-togethers and share them here - I'll be redistributing them in my book club so they can always get to them and maybe other people can draw inspiration from these lists. That's about it :)

Do you usually review/comment on Pagebound about the English version of the book or the one in your own language? So far, I have always commented on the Italian editions, but perhaps if I wrote about the English editions, I could converse with more people. It's not a big problem, but the fact that there are multiple versions to consider on different pages bothers me a little, although perhaps it's a problem only I have. What do you usually do?

This is just another fiction written by an American author. It did not change my life for the better, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had every bit of chance for it to derail into something massive, but it didn't, and that's ok.
