First I will say It was not an easy book to get through.
I think this book proves that we need to dismantle the capitalistic system. George Orwell wrote this a long time ago, but still today we see how relevant it is. This is because no matter how much we figth and how much progress we see as long as the capitalist system is still there the process will be repeated we will always have class struggles, sexism, racism etc. The only way to solve this is by dismantling the system.
I think this is a really important book that shows a lot of the systems and our society’s problems. We need to read this book and we need to learn form it.
Even tho this book has a lot of good points it’s also very important to see the faults and be critical of the book. I think it is very clear this book was written in the 40s. Julia is one of the worst female chatcters I have read. She is very one dimensional and is very clearly written by a sexist man. Also the racism shines through clear as the sun. So this book has a lot of good points and important reflections, but it also have its faults.
