Soooo it’s a lot of names so far and I’m a little confused, but I think I’ll get into the groove of the story soon! It’s my first mystery-comedy so I’m excited!

What am I even supposed to do with this? I suppose Collins wants it to be un-digestible. Incomprehensible. Entirely senseless. So I guess she’s succeeded.

Idk honestly. It’s late right now and maybe it’s a sign of the times but I honestly don’t know what to do with myself right now. Why is this so sad? Why is it all so sad. But I guess that’s the point right? It’s warning, maybe. A cautionary tale. It’s meant to make you uncomfortable, to make you really think.

Mission accomplished Collins. I will be sitting with this for the next ten million years.

This book absolutely destroyed me. The poetry is beautiful and the story is heartbreaking in the best way. It depicts a resilience and strength no women should need, but many end up developing simply by existing in a world as broken as ours.

I read this book for the first time when I was around thirteen and it kind of changed my life. Within a year I had read it at least four times. The poetry is beautiful, and it’s the book that made me fall in love with Elizabeth Acevedo, but it was also the only friend I had for a very long time. I wish all young girls would read this book.

Considering current events this was maybe not the book to be reading to try and keep spirits up. But it was for a school assignment so I guess it couldn’t have been helped…
