The frequent POV changes of characters made this a messy and confusing book to follow, I never really felt very invested or interested in any one characters motivations.
It was fun being in the Cyberpunk world but I wouldn’t say the writing or plot was anything special. Sadly a bit of a miss for me even with being a Cyberpunk fan.

I love the world and character building so far, in a few chapters the author has made me very invested and for a fantasy book it feels very easy to catch on and follow the intricacies of this world and all the hierarchies of power and supernatural elements at play.
Very interested to learn more about this world and read on.

This book was incredibly bleak. The world and plot were dark and it felt like an endless nightmare. As I read it became clear the protagonist wasn’t someone to sympathise with, his inner monologue protested against the world’s horrors but his actions painted him as just as much a problem as the world itself. I feel he was just unwilling to admit it to himself.
I didn’t feel that the writing was particularly strong all the time and some chapters felt heavy-handed in reinforcing the idea that the world and its people are inherently bad. However, I found the world and concepts intriguing.
Overall, I found it a very interesting read. The author depicts a dystopian world well and I’d recommend it to horror fans even with some flaws.
