A young woman, Harper, is trying to start over, escape the demons on her past and start a new job as a nurse at the local prison. A prisoner, Knox, has been incarcerated for over a decade for a crime that he did commit but for good reasons, loosing hope in ever getting parole and being told by his best friend/lawyer to stay in the good graces of the legal system. Life finds a way for these to two to coexist and sparks fly, even though its very much forbidden and this isnt exactly the fresh new start that Harper was looking for.
The tension between these two was off the charts from their first interaction. I love a good touch her and die moment and this one was one of the best I have ever read. These two will have you rooting for their forbidden relationship, from their banter, their complicated backgrounds, the way they just circle each other, I was there eating it all up. They both have history before the book takes place, and this was my first book to read in this series but this book is laid out out in a way where you dont feel like you are missing a beat. The friendship that also exists in this book, more like a found family for both Harper and Knox, I loved it so much and appreciated how much these friends went to bat for our duo.
I have never read a book by this author before but consider me a newly minted fan, and I will be going through the backlog. This one was so much more than a forbidden romance, it had depth and heart, some violence so check your triggers but overall a book.

Newly divorced and needing a fresh start, Dahlia Delaney decides to try to reconnect to her family by going to Valencia, Spain. What follows is an adventure of a lifetime, reconnecting with a lost family, finding yourself along the way and a second chance at romance.
I adored this book, it felt like a cozy warm hug in the best way possible, while Dahlia begins the book at the worst part of her life, the way the story unfolds was so much fun to read. As someone who has Hispanic roots, I really enjoyed the culture of the book as well, your never a stranger in a household full of love and I loved that Dahlia immediately felt that when she arrived in Valencia. The author really did an amazing job at describing the food, the sights and the emotions that Dahlia goes through, I felt like I was right there with her. A great read for those who love second chances, starting over in new places and a sense of renewal.

Complicated is the word of the year for our main character, Libby. She has a decades long friendship with Carter that is about to go up in flames because he is getting married, and she is in love with him. There is also a family curse, because why not complicate things even further and Libby has to self reflect on how far she will go for Carter, if she has the opportunity to save him, would she?
This book has everything I needed in a magical realism romance: a family curse and secrets, a very attractive ghost and a woman who just wonders why this happening to her. Libby is such an interesting character, she has a complicated relationship with almost everyone in her life whether she realizes it or not and she is so guarded in everything she does. Her journey through this book is so much more than a woman just trying to help her best friend, she is also finding herself in a time where everything can go wrong and she has to find her own direction in life. Romance is also a big part of this book and I cannot emphasize how much I loved the slow burn in this one. An absolutely amazing debut novel and I will be reading whatever comes next!

Mafia books are my weakness and this one definitely hit the spot for me.
You have a ruthless mafia man and an innocent woman just trying to survive the horrors of life. These two are as opposite as you can imagine, one a hit man and the other a waitress, and you would never expect them to fit together like a puzzle piece. That is the joy of mafia books, seeing these big bad men bow down to their woman and this one was just everything I needed. The mafia world is going to rough and it will have lots of crime so definitely check your triggers but overall I enjoyed this story and the world that this author built.
