I love it when the ugly, unattractive character in the book is described with the same features that I have.
🥲
(seriously.. why do they always define unattractive women with having broad shoulders in books?)

I’m really enjoying this book so far! Yes I know, It’s silly to say that after one chapter. However I like the authors writing style and the introduction into the world.
I’m guessing that it is an Alice in wonderland retelling? I have never read/watched it before, so I’m going blindly into this!
Starting off simple to get out of my reading slump.

For the past two months, I have just pretty much stopped reading. The back to back heatwaves in the UK this summer are just putting me in the worst mood. If I am hot and sweaty, then I am not in the mood to do anything, not even read. 😫
The weather is supposed to cool down next week, so I want to get back into reading. But I don’t really know how to get back into it 😅 I tried rereading one of my favourite books, but then another heatwave struck and I just completely lost motivation again, now I’m just stuck.
Any tips would be appreciated!
I miss autumn, it is the best reading season in my opinion. I love wrapping myself in blankets with my candles and reading books at night. 😖

I’m sorry, but why was this book not advertised as poetry? I bought this book thinking it would be a novel, opening this book for the first time made me have to take a few steps back.
The lines are written like this with a new line created before finishing a sentence and it is really distracting and hard to read.
I’m just frustrated, angry and upset. I had been very misled when seeing reviews and promotions for this book. The writing style was physically unreadable for me, and I found myself stuck on page 3 rereading it over 6 times just to try to find out what is going on. My mind wasn’t processing the information because new lines were being created before the sentence was finished, so my mind was more focused on jumping from line to line rather than the information I was being presented with.
I’m really praying that waterstones will allow me to have an exchange/refund, I’m so upset at how misled I had been with this book.
