I’m already loving the setting this story is in! Thought the size of the animals is a little confusing 😅

Second book I’ve read this year that has a great premise but just falls so flat. This book is around 350 pages but could be easily cut in half just by removing how many times the characters repeat themselves.

I’m very glad I read this book as a grown adult rather than as a teenage for an English class. It was interesting to see the constant changes being made to the society of animal farm, and how the animals in charge treated the other animals. A good short read if you’re interested in analyzing a small part of history and how it connects to the current day.

I appreciate that my copy has notes at the back that talks about whose who and the historical connections. I find it makes it more interesting.

“Let us put it to the vote. I propose this question to the meeting: Are rats comrades?" The vote was taken at once, and it was agreed by an overwhelming majority that rats were comrades. There were only four dissentients, the three dogs and the cat, who was afterwards discovered to have voted on both sides.”
Yeah sounds like cats to me 😂
