  • ACOTAR 6&7 NAMES AND COVERS REVEALED

Book 6 is A Court of Splintered Harmony and Book 7 is A Court of Forgotten Melody!!!

What do you guys think of the covers?? I have to say I’m a bit confused with the colors? Do we think they’re the final versions? Whose POVs do you think we’re getting? I think maybe ACOSH has something to do with the Bone Carver? And finally, I can’t help but notice a certain similitude with the spider on ACOFM and a certain creature from TOG👀 Give me all your insights!!!

Ugh I love these boys so much. Reading this post-DLTFI is so tough because we finally see how in love with Andrew Thomas is and know that Andrew is truly oblivious of something that is obvious to literally everyone else. I loved the addition of Andrew's stories too. Such a fun dip back into this world.

Book received as an advance copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Let me begin by saying I really wanted to love this book. I went into reading it expecting to love it as it has a lot of things I do love: a gothic setting, sisterly bonds, vampires, and romance. But it just didn't all come together for me.

While the idea for the plot is good, I was left wanting more world-building. I rarely make this comment, but I actually think this book could have been longer (by at least 50-100 words minimum). I think more pages would have allowed us to better develop a relationship and investment in the characters, see some of the seeds of the backstory down, and brought the setting more alive.

Ultimately, I think this book suffers from bad editing (more so on the developmental than copy side). There were several points where I felt a transition was rushed and I didn't know how we got from one place to another or really felt a sense of where we were physically. There were also times where details were thrown in that alluded to knowledge we as the reader or character were presumed to already have, but I didn't recall reading. It left me wondering if some story elements got cut out but then later parts of the book where those moments were referenced were still left in? The ending also felt abrupt. I feel like the addition of an epilogue could have helped wrap things up a bit tighter and cleaner (while also leaving potential room for more).
