Pagebounders! Do you have a particular genre/theme you greatly dislike or refuse to touch? And on the flip-side, do you have a favourite genre? Feel free to also add in particular details or plot beats you enjoy or don't as well!
I'll go first: I don't have any particular genres I dislike, but for themes, I've recently decided that I'm no longer touching negative nihilistic books with a ten foot pole. Not for me... I just disagreed with a lot of the theses of past ones I've read and didn't have much fun with them because of that. I usually don't mind or even enjoy reading books that hold different views than me, but the whole "nothing matters so why bother" thing can get tiring fast. Maybe some day I'll find one that I enjoy, but until something catches my eye, I'll be staying away.
As for my favourites, I really enjoy historical fiction! Especially as a way to learn about cultures and time periods I didn't know much about previously. As for themes, I have a lot of fun with books that focus on love and human relationships. The power of friendship, baby, let's go! As such, I also really like books that have a lot of character interactions!

Sex scenes were hot, characters were conflicted, happily ever after. What more could I ask for?

Yknow if you are gonna name your series "My Boss's Kitten" I really think you should lean more into the petplay stuff. It kinda just felt like a regular josei romance which is fine but I really expected more kitten play T_T

Not bad, but personally could do without "big bull cock" and "hot milk" being used in dirty talk. Also the FMC has a lot to say about the MMC balls and while I don't wish to yuck her yum it very much was just not for me lol

So I was looking at my profile and my jaw DROPPED because excuse me?!? I’m ONE book away from completing my reading goal for the year?!? What the heck?????
I picked my goal this year off of what I read the year before. I managed 62 totalllll for the 2025 year, so I didn’t think at allllll that I would surpass 66 this year?! I did read a handful of graphic novels, which significantly bumped up my reading count, and I’m pretty sure I’ve been prioritizing reading more this year, so those were some unexpected things.
How do you decide your reading goal? Is it random, based on something, or just your favourite number?
