Overall a cool continuation to the story, great ideas, really badly executed. The stories were cluttered and congested, the mechanics were so convoluted, explanations arrived pages after you need them, and convenient lapses in security or quick explanations “learned earlier” when needed were the order of the day. None of the stories got the time they needed to breathe. Disappointing!!!

This one really hooked me. The content is a little dated, and the characters reactions to some things skeeved me out a bit, but it’s a well-structured read with good excitement and enjoyable character interactions.

Really enjoyed this. Well written, historically accurate, sweet and tender at times. Confused by a lot of reviews from people who read a book about a knight turned brigand set in medieval France during the Black Death and thought it would feature feminism or something.

This book suffers from the format the author chose. It’s a really cool story, very gothic and well researched, but we glaze over all the interesting parts at breakneck pace. The book had no room to breathe. Having no chapter breaks was bad too.
