Bridgerton meets AVP. Unique is an understatement. I enjoyed this one but I’m not a huge regency romance fan so I didn’t love it. And that’s entirely my personal preference so don’t let that sway you. However, I loved the sci-fi bits. Isobel is sweet and supposed to marry Lord Richard when she spots something fall from the sky. She meets Ved and decides to help him repair his ship and they form a connection along the way.

Danielle truly has a gift of writing that immerses you into her world and makes you forget your surroundings. If you’re looking for a sweet romance, this book is not for you. It centers around the Bratva aka Russian mafia. We got a very small taste in the previous book with Christian, but this mostly takes place in Moscow with Ronan, Christian’s brother. Mila is a new face to the series who is a vegan, loves yellow, and sweet as pie. There’s a decent amount of Russian that is NOT translated so I was googling half the time because I refuse to be in the dark. This is definitely the darkest book in this series and won’t be for everyone. However, I was invested and wanted to see how these two would pull it off. It feels very Stockholm syndrome-y but any book that makes me want to keep reading this much deserves 5 stars.
