Okay so I haven't read this book and I wasn't planning on it but I've seen it all around and I just read the synopsis while dumb scrolling through the app and I'm shockedddd. I'm from a rally small village next to Santo Domingo de la Calzada; my dad, aunts, uncles, and my best friend live there, I've spent years of my life studying in Santo Domingo's highschool and every year without exception I attend a medieval fair in that town AND a little theatre event that they organise to explain the history of the town, the play takes place in Santo Domingo around the same time period as this book!!!!!!!
Now I feel like I MUST read it, is it a good book? What are your thoughts on this? Am I gonna enjoy reading about this town or is it not a big part of the story? This is so exciting!

Just as in any other short stories book, some stories here are more impactful than others, some more entertaining, some you can just relate more to; but what makes a difference in Claire Keegan's stories is that her writing style and choice of words is so characteristically on point and beautiful that no matter what the story is about, you'll love it, and that's the reason this book is definitely a 5 ⭐
Does someone have a favourite story? I personally find it so difficult to choose between so many amazing works, but I loved Burns, Sisters and probably Quare Name for a Boy too... idk!

Antartica. The beauty of Keegan's prose mixed up with an unsettling and creepy story that I wasn't expecting from this author, love it.
