This has quickly become my favorite book tracking app. I have good reads, fable, Storygraph, and now this. But I find that this is the one I come to the most. Right now my favorite feature is the ability to add a book and it’s available within MINUTES! Also love that I can track my progress now. I came across this platform about a year or so ago when it was a website. I didn’t use it much, but once I saw it had an app…it was OVER! Love the improvements, keep up the great work 👏🏼😍

A little impatient rant
I have books on hold at the library and they are currently in transit but it's been days and I'm itching to keep reading 😭
It's like a forced break which I can appreciate, so thanks universe, but I'm absolutely buzzing to get my books!
Anyone else experiencing this with their library?

Does anyone else get distracted while reading - not by your phone or anything, just your own brain? 😅 I’ll read a whole page, realize I absorbed none of it because I was thinking about literally anything else. Or I’ll start skipping lines and feel guilty for skimming the page for dialogue.
How do you stay mentally present when you read?

First time mom here to a lil 4 month old and WOW it is tough to find time to sit back and read these days 😭. I miss it. For all the parents out there, when did things change for you so that you could read more? Any tips on how to fit reading into this new stage of life?

Mainly meaning the virtual TBR lists we accumulate on reading apps. I try to prevent mine from getting over the humble number of 600 [i know🤣]. My readings tastes have changed a lot over the years so at least once a year I revisit my TBR list and delete what may no longer resonate with me, knowing i very well may come back to the book at some point but it is no longer a priority read [what even is a priority read on a list of 600 books, lol]. I also delete books off my online lists if I have acquired them since i know i probably won’t forget about them if they’re sitting in my bookstacks.
Wondering how you all use your [ever growing] TBR list 📚

happy tuesday everyone!
Lets say one day you wake up in a scary movie but turns out you’re the villain, out of all characters you have read about who would you spare or kill? hehehe 😈

Guys… I’m thinking about deleting Goodreads 🫣 I don’t check it anymore and I mainly update here. I’ll be sad to not see what my friends are reading but also talk to those who I actually keep up with.
Anyone have any similar feelings?? Should I keep both for a little longer?

Would anyone else like to see a Home Screen widget for Pagebound? I just know personally I would love to see a little of the Pagebound ✨aesthetic✨ on my homescreen and I was curious if anyone else felt that way. 😊

Love the picks for the Winter Readalong! I have already finished Wuthering Heights a couple years ago and I marked it finished here as well... Does that mean I'll automatically get the badge? If yes, 🥳 Also, it looks like the winter readalong books are going to become tomorrow's "most tbr'd yesterday"

Does anyone else procrastinate when it comes to writing book reviews?! I'm like legit stressed to write my Paradise by Toni Morrison review and I finished it a week or two ago...gulp. It's not like it was even a bad book, like a solid 3.5. please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem💔💔

After a rather rocky start, I've ended up taking a liking to the book. I still have the same gripes as before with the narration, but for the most part im able to ignore it. I did feel like a couple of the plot points were a bit obvious, but with the amount of fantasy based media I've consumed in my life, I shouldn't be surprised. Not sure when I'll end up listening to the rest. Book 1 was free with the audio subscription and im saving my credits for other series'. But im curious about what comes next so the other 3 will definitely be going on my TBR.

When it comes to your book selections / reading preferences, do you feel like you enjoy standalone novels more, or are you a lover of trilogies, duologies and anything else that is a series? How do you feel about really long book series - do you hit a point of fatigue where you need a palate cleanser in between, or do you power through? And of course - do you prefer getting into a series when it's finished, or do you pick up ongoing series?
I think both standalone and series have their place and merit of course. I definitely love a chunky series as much as a good standalone. And man, I've gotten burned in the past by u finished/incomplete series (ahem, looking at those Kingkiller Chronicles). I don't mind that so much if the novels feel finished enough in themselves - but if things are left too open ended without a follow up/conclusion, I find that unpleasant. Kind of like tv shows getting cancelled on a cliffhanger, or mid-mystery.
As for series fatigue, I definitely feel like I usually flag after three books in one series before I need something else for a little bit. I powered through the Thursday Murder Club series in a month, which was 5 books, and I could definitely feel my attention span chafing against spending 5 novels with the same characters in the same world. Credit to the author for keeping my flighty brain engaged enough that finishing the series was still a joy and never ended up feeling like a slog tbh. I've had to pause on the Expanse novels because that is a long series, and each book is chunky and heavy sci-fi, so i wouldn't do the entire series back to back, honestly.
