Book 5 of Game Changers is definitely an improvement in writing from the previous books. In both just how the book is written and in the smut scenes. What is similar to the previous books is the lack of consistency. Characters would say one thing and the next moment act like they didn’t say anything in the first place. Making the whole previous conversations and emotions that were created during those conversations irrelevant to the narrative.

Outside of consistency, I do not buy the Troy Barrett redemption. Since there is no redemption. The narrative just wants the readers to accept that Barrett is not that type of person anymore, and while Barrett‘s actions do show that, there is no disconnect from who Barrett was and who he is now. Because they are the same person. Understanding Barrett’s motivations is not redemption. It’s being “my poor meow meow.” It’s a cop-out. Also, the framing of why Barrett wants to be a better person is absurd. Especially in an MLM romance.
