    My first Re-read

This book series, reread, is amazing. I am looking closely into details I've missed.

  • Fantasy readers, what’s the best gateway book? ✨

Okay fantasy readers, I need your help.

Confession time: the only fantasy I’ve ever read is Harry Potter. I’ve always been kind of intimidated by the genre with the huge worlds, the lore, the giant book sizes, but at the same time I really want to dip my toes in and see what’s out there beyond Hogwarts.

So if you had to recommend just a couple of fantasy books for someone who’s brand new to the genre, what would you pick? I’m looking for something immersive but approachable, where I won’t get lost in 50 pages of worldbuilding before the story kicks in.

Basically, what’s your “gateway fantasy” recommendation, the book that could turn a fantasy newbie into a fantasy fan?

Books that made you giggle and kick your feet 🤭

I’ve been reading a lot of serious books lately, and with everything going on in the world, I’ve been feeling pretty meh.

So0o, I’m looking for books that will pull me out of this slump and make me laugh.

What was the last book that brought you pure joy—whether it had you laughing out loud, giggling and kicking your feet, or squealing with excitement?

Mine were: • Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac – Leon’s humor is delightfully unhinged and chaotic in the best way. • Blood of Hercules – Alexis’s self-deprecating, sarcastic inner dialogue had me laughing out loud.

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses #1)
    Thoughts from 1% (page 4)

The internet hasn’t stopped talking about it and my friend speaks well of it so I finally caved and am ready to give it a go. 4 pages in and it’s written well and I’m enjoying it so far. Though, I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s going to drag for the first half! I hope that’s not the case because it has small writing so I feel like that’ll make it feel even longer if it drags.

I'm really enjoying this book This is the first vampire book I've read since Twilight but I've been in a book slump so decided to mix up my usual genres and it's definitely working.

  • Personal Curriculum Trend - Am I Missing Something?

Hi all! I've been seeing this "personal curriculum" trend all over my socials lately. Maybe I'm just getting old but, is it just like creating a college course...for yourself? Or is it like something you can do as a group?

I'm curious to hear all your thoughts on what you all think of the trend! It seems quite a bit of work - so if you have done it, was it worth it?

    Let's discuss :)

  • Are e-readers worth it?

I've never owned an e-reader but I'm considering getting one. My main reason is for portability, I commute to uni so it would be nice to have something to do during my travels. (Also, my bookshelf has officially ran out of space so I'm having to put books into my clothes drawers TT).

Are there any distinctive pros and cons I should be aware of? Is there a wide range of books that you can access?

And, is there any particular e-readers you guys would recommend 🙂‍↕️? I don't have a massive budget so I'll be prioritising affordability over premium features for the most part.

I'm completely unfamiliar with how they work so any and all information is welcome 💛.

  • What’s the coolest book related story in your life?

Mine is getting a message from a random woman on Facebook in a state halfway across the country. Her husband had bought some Harry Potter books from their local GoodWill and one had a lovely inscription from my great grandmother in it! It luckily had my first and last name, and both this woman and I were in the Twilight Shitposting facebook group 😂 I ended up sending her money to replace that copy and she mailed mine to me. It had ended up donated when I moved as a kid and based on the timeline that book floated around the country for about a decade before it made its way back to me. Books are made out of magic ✨

Something to note, I personally think this book is starting with a TON of world building and internal monologues. Which I’m guessing is going to really set up the plot of this book. Be prepared to feel like it feels slow, but I personally enjoying the world and character development and feeling more immersed as I continue to read on.
